Preliminary technical
and spatial requirements for MERMAID
(January 12th, 2005)
MERMAID is a primarily non-verbal theatre production based on
strong elements from contemporary circus. The performance will
show air acrobatics as trapez, line, russian swing, bungy jump,
e.t.c. The performance’s duration will be app. 90 minutes,
no intermission.
The performance is optimal for an audience of 500 – 800
people.
Crew:
The Little mermaid travels with:
12 artists
5 technicians (3 stage, 1 light, 1 sound)
1 tour manager
1 assisting director
Time schedule:
Get in: 2 days (full length)
Rehearsal: 1 day
Opening night on the 3rd day.
Get out: 1 day.
Stage:
Performing area: Minimum 12 m wide, 14 m deep, 10 m to rig/ceiling
Flat floor.
The company travels with a ground supported hanging system,
fully rigged with most light, sound and circus equipment.
The venue provides:
Legs and borders for the stage,
A modern, full functioning loudspeaker system (app 6 speakers),
Minimum two follow spots,
Wardrobes for 13 persons,
Video monitors for the stage,
Hands:
Getin: App.8 -10 persons (hands) during get in
During performance: 2-3 persons (Stage manager and dresser/wardrobe)
Get out: App. 6-8 persons (stage manager, light and sound
+ hands)
